It takes as its starting point 19th-century engravings of the Colombian landscape produced in Europe—specifically those included in La fabulosa geografía de Colombia (1869) by the French botanist Charles Saffray. These unraveled images expose the colonial effort to recreate a flat landscape acting as a grid for interpretation and exploitation and thereby freeze time. (shown in Arco- Madrid 2026)

Endless reweaving is an installation consisting of photographs dye-sublimated on polyester silk and then partially unweaved. The photos are installed as an involving landscape of a Kaolin quarry in a corner of the space. A recovered wood column is held by the threads.

“Creía en infinitas series de tiempos, en una red creciente y vertiginosa de tiempos divergentes, convergentes y paralelos. Esa trama de tiempos que se aproximan, se bifurcan, se cortan o que secularmente se ignoran, abarca todas las posibilidades. No existimos en la mayoría de esos tiempos.”
Pero existimos ante las imágenes, ellas nos confrontan desde su *dinámica especular, nos demuestran cómo hemos aprendido a ver y de manera simultánea nos sugieren otras formas posibles de experimentar aquello que está sucediendo ante nuestros ojos. ….

The area surrounding the Tamina Gorge gives geologists and keen observers a fascinating insight into the Earth's history. Current findings indicate that earth is 4.6 billion years old in this location.
In the past 2 million years there have been several cold stages and warm stages. The Tamina valley was created from an arm of the Rhine glacier, which had pushed forward over the Kunke/spass and shaped the Sardona glacier.
